1、斗百草
古時人們到端午節，會結伴去郊外采藥，采藥途中會斗草玩，逐漸形成習俗。參與游戲的兩人會持草相對站立，雙手各持一草或花莖的兩端。游戲開始后，二草相勾，雙方各自把草向自己方向拉，誰的草或花莖被對方拉斷誰為輸。

The exact origins of Duan Wu are unclear, but one traditional view holds that the festival memorializes the Chinese poet Qu Yuan of the Warring States Period. 這個節日的由來是古代中國有一位博學多聞的官吏屈原，他是一位愛民而且又受到尊崇的官吏，但是由於一位充滿嫉妒的官吏陷害，從此在朝廷中被皇帝所冷落。由於無法獲得皇帝的重視，屈原在憂郁的情況下投汨羅江自盡。
