今天我首先要說的是英語的重要性。英語的重要性我想我不用說，各位在座的家長也應該知道吧！英語是國際語言，今后必將成為全球性的語言。在以后社會競爭中，你不會英語可能寸步難行。現在無論什么考試都少不了英語。中考，高考，考研，出國都要英語。
我們現在的孩子學習英語應該存在這些難題：首先英語不是我們的母語，沒有現成的語言環境，不能在日常生活中反復運用。其次，三、四年級是英語學習的初級階段和基礎階段，培養孩子良好的學習英語的學習習慣是最最要的。這些好的學習習慣會讓他們在英語學習的道路上受益匪淺。同時激發孩子的學習興趣，讓孩子樹立學好英語的自信心。這些需要我們老師和家長的共同努力與配合。
在座的家長對自己子女的情況比我更加清楚。學生們都是在三年級時同一起跑線上起跑的，經過一個學期來的學習，學生與學生之間已經拉開了差距。一些好的學生學習興趣濃，學習勁頭足，課堂上積極思維，踴躍發言，課后及時鞏固，形成了良性循環的好勢頭。他們的學習習慣好，在聽、說、讀、寫方面都能齊頭并進，我為他們感到欣慰。可也有一些學生，平時學習馬虎，基礎不扎實，功虧一簣，導致他們現在課上聽講出現困難，用他們自己的話說：“我聽不懂。”聽不懂，還不努力，書面作業拖拉不交，口頭作業根本不完成，如此一來，學習自然成了件頭痛事，麻煩事。其實，大部分的學生還是處于中間層次，老師所教的，所布置的作業能夠基本完成，但學習的效率又因人而異，存在著個體差別。盡管他們平時不需要老師操太多的心，費太大的力，但是說起各方面的表現，又總有一絲遺憾，我們總希望他們能夠再上一個臺階。
怎樣幫助孩子學好英語呢？我們老師自然是最直接的知識傳授者，有著不可推卸的責任。在此，我們只是真誠地呼吁我們的家長配合學校，配合老師，靠我們共同的努力來幫助孩子學好英語。用一句時髦的話說：我們要和孩子共同成長。
作為一名英語教師，我認為我對這三個班的孩子是盡心盡責的。我每天早來晚走，一心撲在這三個班的英語教學上。三個班的好幾套作業，《同步練》，《一課一練》，《活動手冊》，作業本，練習本等等我都認真的進行批改。有的時候還要帶回家改。但是結果卻不是那么的盡如人意。我分析后發現問題主要出在孩子的學習方法和學習習慣上。我發現學習成績好的孩子，他們都有好的學習習慣和學習方法。
好的聽課習慣。課堂是教學最重要的環節，緊緊抓住40分鐘比課后補四個小時都有用。課堂上應該要集中注意力，跟著老師走。這樣不會漏掉任何一個知識點，才會學得全面。我發現有的同學在課堂上始終能保持注意力的集中，有的則是只能集中一段時間，還有一小部分是幾乎沒有多少時間是集中注意力的，手在下面動不停，老師點名的時候好一些，一轉臉又不知道在干什么了。上課不聽怎么可能學好英語呢？
學習英語主要就是操練句子，要說英語，學了要能說出來才是會了。課堂上我們留有大量的時間讓孩子們朗讀，表演。所以在英語課上積極發言就顯得更加重要。我問那些不愛發言的孩子為什么不舉手，他們說害怕錯。我都是跟他們說：“即使錯了也沒關系，這樣可以讓老師發現你的問題在哪里并及時糾正。”作為家長也應該這樣去鼓勵他們，要他們抓住每次發言的機會。
作業是課堂教學的補充和鞏固，作業完成質量的好壞直接關系到知識掌握的牢固程度。好的作業完成習慣包括按時完成作業和按時交作業，按老師的要求認真的，字跡清晰的正確的完成作業。雖然只有這幾點，但真正做到也不是那么容易。特別他們還是孩子，孩子總有不自覺和管不住自己的時候，所以家長應該在這方面多下點工夫。對于做作業習慣較好的學生，家長只需要在他完成作業之后檢查一下就可以了。但對于習慣相對較差的孩子來說，作為家長你可能就要多花點時間陪著他寫了。我們也能理解家長工作的繁忙，但是對于你們來說最重要的是孩子的教育問題，孩子的成材才是你們作為家長真正的成功！
這學期，我希望我們老師和家長能相互配合、共同努力。讓孩子養成良好的學習習慣，提高他的英語成績。我希望家長做到的是，每天根據孩子的英語作業進行檢查是否完成，完成的質量如何。
我們每天的英語作業都不是很多，一般在半小時內就能完成，有的孩子還是不能完成。家長說語文數學作業太多了，沒有時間寫。我想問語文數學作業多難道就不用寫英語作業了嗎？英語還是要學的。所以家長可以幫孩子想想辦法，可以適當的改變一下做作業的順序，可以先做英語啊！
