1、as做介詞，意思是“作為”

英語中as……as的用法
一、“as(否定句中可用so)＋adj．／adv．＋as…”，其基本意思為“……和……一樣”。但在實際應用中，此結構在不同的語境中含義差異較大。
1、表示不同人或物同一性質的比較，意為“……和……一樣……"。
The tree is as tall as the building(is)．
這棵樹和那棟樓一樣高。
Michael is as bright as George(is)．
邁克爾和喬治一樣聰明。
2、表示同一個人或物不同性質的比較，意為“既……又……”
Alice works as happily as(she)plays(happily)．
艾麗絲愉快地工作，盡情地玩。
Danny is not so wise as he is witty．
丹尼為人風趣，但欠明智。
3、用于表示兩個人或物不同性質的比較，表示程度相同或相當，意為“……而……”。
He was as handsome as his wife was beautiful．

He was as experienced as his brother was green．

二、as…as結構的另一種形式是“as much／many＋名詞＋as＋從句”。
Mary has written as many essays as her brother．

Henry is as much a hypocrite as·John．

三、若有修飾成分，如twice，three times，half，a quaer等，必須置于第一個as之前。

She isn’t going out with a man who is twice as old as she．

You’ve made just as many mistakes as I have．

四、as…as結構的另一變體形式是“as＋形容詞原級＋名詞詞組＋as”
I don't want as expensive a car as this.＝I don't want a car as expensive as this．

五、當as…as與表示重量、數量、時間、距離、價格等的計量名詞連用時。往往并不表示比較。而是構成一個形容詞組，意為“重達……，多達……，高達……”等。
The river is as deep aslO meters．
這條河深達10米。
Frosts often occur as late as May．
往往到5月份還有霜。
六、“as+原級+as any(或ever)”、“as+原級+as…can be”、“nothing(或no)＋so＋原級＋as…”等結構表達的是最高級意義。即在某種程度上或某方面達到極限或最大限度。

七、as…as…不表示比較的幾個常見句型。
1．as…as possible／sb can盡可能的……
Please answer my question as soon as possible．
請盡快回答我的問題。
The detective is searching the man as carefully as he can．
那個偵探正在盡可能仔細地搜查那個男子的身體。
2．as…as usual／before像以前一樣……
She looks as pretty as before．
她看起來和以前一樣漂亮
Though they failed，they still worked as hard as usual．
盡管他們失敗了，但他們仍像以前一樣努力工作。
3．as long as只要，引導條件狀語從句
I will stay with you as long as there is a room flree．
要是你有一間空余的房子，我就住在你這里。
You may borrow this book as long as you promise to give itback．
只要你答應歸還，你就可以把這書借走。
as的從句用法
1、引導限制性定語從句和非限制性定語從句as多與such 或the same連用，可以代替先行詞是人或物的名詞。as 也可單獨使用，引導非限制性定語從句，作用相當于which。As引導的非限制性定語從句的位置
2、as引導的非限制性定語從句位置較靈活，可以位于主句前面．中間或后面，一般用逗號與主句隔開，但which所引導的非限制性定語從句只能放在主句之后。
例如： As is expected, the England team won the football match.
as和which的相同點：
1、as和which都能引導定語從句，并都可以在定語從句中做主語或賓語，代表前面整個句子。例 1 He married her, as / which was natural. 他跟她結婚了，這是很自然的事。
例 2 He is honest, as we can see. 他很誠實， 這一點我們看得出來。(表示人們從日常主觀常識, 經驗對某一事情的看法、評價,用as為妥。)
2、當非限定性定語從句置于句末時，as和which都可用來引導這個定語從句。
例 3 The number of senior high school students is increasing, as is mentioned above.
as引導非限定性定語從句，意思是“正如”。此時也可以換用which引導，但意思有別，意思是：“這一點上面提到了”。
