許淵沖作為有史以來韻文中譯英、法專家，在國際翻譯界享有崇高聲譽，其翻譯作品不僅是世界非中文讀者了解中國古典詩詞的好窗口，也為中文讀者所深愛。
《許淵沖經典英譯古代詩歌1000首：詩經》采用漢英對照的方式，中文在前，英文在后，考慮古今讀音之別，并有生僻難認字，中文部分皆加注音。封面、版式美觀，極富古意。
許淵沖，北京大學教授，翻譯家，是全世界有史以來將中國古典詩詞翻譯成英法韻文的唯一專家。在國內外出版中、英、法文著譯一百余部，包括《詩經》、《楚辭》、《李白詩選》、《西廂記》、《紅與黑》、《包法利夫人》、《追憶似水年華》等中外名著。
他在翻譯理論上在繼承前人學說的基礎上，集畢生翻譯之經驗加以發展，提出了一套完整的“中國學派的文學翻譯理論”。1999年他被提名為諾貝爾文學獎候選人，2011年獲得“中國翻譯文化終身成就獎”。

5. 許淵沖楊憲益翻譯了哪些相同的宋詞
達到CATTI 資深翻譯級別，即可認定為翻譯家，主要看其著作水平、業內認可度和聲譽，不是簡簡單單一個等級考試就可以界定的
本人做筆譯，很不同意將專八和翻譯家做比較，兩者天上地下，絲毫沒有可比性，我覺得專八只是合格英語本科生應該達到的水平（相對非專業的來說，確實已經比較高了）
翻譯家需學貫中西，有堅實的語言基礎和文化素養、廣博的知識面，駕馭語言的能力很強，也只有林紓、梁實秋、楊憲益、王佐良、許淵沖、草嬰、楊絳等這樣的大賢才配稱為翻譯家！
6. 淺議許淵沖古詩英譯"三美"論在翻譯實踐中的得失求此論文 愛問知識
許淵沖的詩譯三美，簡單的說就是“音美、意美、形美”，作為一個翻譯的專家，當然不好指摘。
不慚舛漏，姑妄言之，姑妄聽之吧。 翻譯自嚴復提出的“信、雅、達”后，錢鐘書加了一個“化”。
當然，“化”是個無可企及的境界，正因為如此，翻譯中達不到化的境界，就只能在“信”和“雅”之間做選擇，以求譯“達”了。 而詩歌存在的精華，是它的美？還是它給人的準確無誤的知識性？又或者其他？！！ 我們看到許淵沖的三美標準，當然也知道他的選擇，他選擇詩歌是美的，一切以美的標準衡量翻譯的優劣。
這事他的特色，也是他的優點，當然，反過來說也是缺點。就如許淵沖在說及他和錢鐘書在翻譯中的不同時，說：“在不得以的時候，錢先生選擇的是真，我選擇的是美。”
