再比如我們漢語都喜歡用一長串定語，說什么什么樣的什么東西，英語里就喜歡定語后置，說什么東西是什么什么樣

我覺得你這種情況背單詞很好。
要背得快，最基本的原則是腦子不斷地想單詞，讓單詞不斷地從你腦子里過，你看書看10遍，還不如腦子過一遍。要 做到單詞在你腦子里過的次數比你在書本上過的次數多得多，要做到完全拋開書本，不依賴書本，不拿書的時候也在想單詞、在背單詞。
要盡量在單詞被忘記之前在腦子里過一遍，這樣，它留給你的印象要深得多，就算以后再忘記，也很容易記起來。當時，雖然很多單詞我只看過不足60、70遍，但它在我腦子里過的次數遠遠超過了200遍。
在排隊時、洗碗時，我有時不斷地問自己：我剛才學了什么單詞？剛才老師講了什么單詞。 我今天類比學了什么單詞？它們是什么關系？記不起來時就馬上翻看。
有時走路時，我看到樹的枝條，我會想，剛才我學的嫩枝是什么？我記得有時睡夢中我也在想單詞，醒來后還能清清楚楚的說出來。當然，也不能太入魔，否則就睡不好覺。
背單詞時還要注意在單詞之間建立聯系。 當然，剛開始時可能能建立的聯系很少，但要注意培養這種意識，爭取一串串地背單詞，看見一個，就能想起一串。
比如，同義的單詞一塊兒記，反義的，形似的，分類的，詞根的、背單詞一段時間之后，就應該看到該單詞，想一想以前學過什么同義的，如果只有印象而想不起來，最好在一個筆記本上記一筆，下次碰到該單詞時，特別注意。 比如，背單詞一段時間后，你應該問自己：我一共學了多少關于衣服的詞？哦，有garment, scarf,apparel,tuxedo…。
，如果你只記得中文意思，想不起英文，下次就要特別注意了。或者你看到holograph的時候是能想起homograph？雖然有些書給你整理了一些聯系，可我覺得自己總結的才會印象最深。
這樣，單詞之間建立聯系后，不拿書本的時候你也能利用這些聯系不斷地想單詞，當某一個單詞記不起來時，可就要注意了。我當時看后面的單詞時，就不斷地想前面學過的單詞中有那些類似的，或意思相反的，把有聯系的單詞的頁數寫在單詞旁，每當看到這個單詞時，總想起和它有關的單詞，想不起時再根據頁數翻看。
如果有印象而想不起來，就在筆記本上記一筆，下次補上。我實際上按一章一章的順序背的遍數遠不及按聯系跳躍著背的次數多。
背單詞時不要在一個單詞上花的時間太多，根本不用超過一分鐘，象掃描般一掠而過。只是重復的次數要多，特別在腦子里重復的次數要比在書本上重復的次數多得多。
其他方法還有聽錄音帶，背單詞軟件等等。不時翻一翻別的單詞書也挺有用，因為有新鮮感。
最好先背紅寶書，其他的補充、預測的單詞用處不是太大。 。
