for,and,nor,but,or,yet,so，縮成“fanboys” 是連詞，在英語里面兩個獨立的句子必須有連詞。
"IC, fanboys IC." IC指independent clause，獨立句子。
如：I like you, but you don't like me.
你不可以說：I like you but you don't like me.
上面這幾個連詞一樣的用法，必須的它們的前面加一個逗號。
說不用的除非是口語或者很不正式的時候。
補充一句：樓上，so 就只有adv和conj，即副詞和連詞兩個，樓主問的肯定是連詞了，誰會問要不要在副詞前加逗號的啊。
二、so

三、so作并列連詞和從屬連詞的區別是什么
一、在表示“因此/所以”時，so是個臨界連詞。從結構上看，它引導的似乎結果狀語從句，很像從屬連詞；從意思上看，它不能與另一個從屬連詞because在一起使用，而且也不能置于主句之前，這一點和從屬連詞although和并列連詞but的用法同出一轍，因此又像是并列連詞。如：
It was late, so we went home. 天晚了， 所以我們就回家去了。
但是不能說
Because it was late, so we went home
So we went home,it was late.
He was sick, so they were quiet. 他病了， 所以他們 很安靜。
同理，也不能說
Because he was sick, so they were quiet.
So they were quiet he was sick.
二、在下面的兩種從句中，so 是從屬連詞
1、和情態動詞 can/could 或 may/might 連用，引導目的狀語，等于so that 的省略，表示“為的是/以便”，如：
Be quiet so he can sleep. 肅靜些好使他能睡覺。
I stayed so I could see you. 我留下來以便能見到你。
2、引導條件狀語從句，等于so long as 的省略，表示“只要”，如：
So it is done, it matters not how. 只要成功，怎么辦都行。
So I live, I must study. 只要還活著，我就要學習。
四、“so”放在句子開頭時,什么情況后面要加逗號
so 后面不要逗號，直接引導從句。
therefore，可以做插入語，單獨使用，表因果關系，需要用逗號隔開。
