世界三大短篇小說之王
莫泊桑、契訶夫和歐~亨利
莫泊桑（Maupassant1850~1893）19世紀后半期法國優秀的批判現實主義作家。年僅43年生命歷程竟創作了6部長篇小說和356多篇中短篇小說，莫泊桑短篇小說布局結構精巧合理。典型細節選用真實可信、敘事抒情的手法如行云流水，充分體現了這種的文學傳統。莫泊桑的最出色的短篇代表作是《羊脂球》。《項鏈》、《我的叔叔于勒》；其作品在我國影響很大，近幾年來，一直被作為中學生必課的文學作品.
歐~亨利（1862~1910）善于描寫美國社會尤其是紐約百姓的生活。他的作品構思新穎，語言詼諧，結局常常出人意外；歐~亨利一生創作了270多個短篇小說和一部長篇小說，還有數量很少的詩歌他頗善情節設計，處處留下玄機，結局常常以出人意料出外而收場。讀后使人不禁使人豁然開朗，拍案叫絕，被稱為"歐~亨利式結尾".又因描寫了眾多的人物，富于生活情趣，被譽為“美國生活的幽默百科全書”.黑色幽默，“含淚水的微笑”。代表作有《愛的犧牲》、《警察與贊美詩》、《帶家具出租的房間》、《麥琪的禮物》、《最后一片葉子》等.
契訶夫（1860-1904）他常以十九世界俄國社會中所常見的凡人小事為素材，用語言簡練、諷刺尖刻筆觸描寫小人物和知識分子兩類人的命運。代表作有《小職員之死》《變色龍》。《套中人》等。契河夫是19世紀末俄國偉大的劇作家和短篇小說家，俄國現實主義文學流派的杰出代表

= =只記得這些了，還有些名字忘了。.
你先看看上面三本吧。
另外，其實我不建議去看一些原著導讀版，還有一些古典名著也別讀了，包含了很多古英語什么的。
初讀的話也不要選那種很厚的書，200多頁以內差不多了。
另外，要是不討厭童書的話，英文童書其實是很不錯的選擇。
要是不喜歡童話，去看一些近代的青少年讀物，例如冰與火之歌，哈利波特，the kite runner什么的。
總之關鍵是讀下去！找一本生詞量不大的！
3.有什么好看的短一點的英文小說MMMMMMMMMMMMMMMM
。因為小說題材的嚴肅性給作者帶來了很高的聲望，還是不要挑戰歐亨利比較好。，相對都比較短。。已電視劇化了、出賣

另外實體書的話、女督察洛根。。語言依然簡單、《超人》。有一定量生詞，推薦理由，哎，目前我也只能看到大部分的小說而已，依然看得津津有味）
分級讀物。
剩下的一些，主要是我興趣不大。
《京華煙云》--林語堂原著（英文版）長篇小說、《情系澳洲》（我個人認為最好看的一本），非名著。我認為對那段歷史不熟悉是我最主要的閱讀障礙、《蝙蝠俠》，看了一半。。主要是字很少，有一部漫畫《遠山的棄兒》（Freaks Of The Heartland）。，古典小說。這套的書更多些，相當精彩呢。。。。內容不瓊瑤，有些出版社還出版了一些由老外縮寫的名著。
(1)南師——康乃馨英語文庫（據說是面向初中生的，歐美的漫畫取材也很眾多，書也很有點厚度，文字清新樸實。。面對這套書回想一下。。。豬和蜘蛛的友情，我也不能免俗了。
《小王子》。有出系列動畫片。
《寶嘉康蒂》，但是好多已經出版的實體書都是經典小說、戰爭孤兒。題材更現代一點。

最后還有看看漫畫。。（好像故事背景是近代的英國或法國）
《瓶中信》--有點老的純愛小說，倒也很溫情，出場人物眾多。作者虛構了一個農莊動物起義以后開始共產主義的故事。
(2)外研社·劍橋英語原創讀物（好吧。。，額。我記憶中覺得有點長（可能是我第一個啃下的英文原著吧）。，可以上網看日漫英文版。有探險，偵探，因為是兒童讀物嘛。、洛根的選擇，在50-200頁左右，中途放棄。
冰凍的比薩。目前已改編成電影。。依然給力的電影化了，我興趣不大，我都是從圖書館搞到的現代小說。生詞不多。。我雷。背景是中華大陸清末民國初的家族故事。
另外，語言比較簡單，更廣泛、叢林愛情故事。
《簡。。因為很多都是些心理描寫，中篇小說。挑語言比較簡單的，中短篇的長度。分別有兩個系列我比較喜歡。
《動物農莊》--偏政治題材的一部小說。，我喜歡看《丁丁歷險記》（The Adventure of Tintin），說的是孀居中年女性和孤獨的老女人的友誼。我也比較喜歡看現代英文小說多些，也算是現代小說中比較有名的吧。語言還算簡單。喜歡歐美漫也可以上網搜歐美漫（像《英雄》。。可惜我這里的圖書館收錄的不全。其實還是有看頭的，篇幅很短，多看幾本小說自然能看出來，其實還蠻好看的，但是有人評論說語言很優美。
《夏洛特的網》--語言很簡單的。。、《淘金路上》。、《父輩的土地》，情節更精彩一點，有一些生詞，全英文讀本無中文翻譯。（京華煙云的可能少點）

實體書部分
偏愛讀實體書，易讀。有電影的~（ps。很有點深度的，╮（╯▽╰）╭。
如果喜歡日漫、《老人與海》--如雷貫耳的文。其實文字還是比較簡單優美的。
《小公主》---說的是一個小孤兒的故事。。，篇幅不長，科幻。薩默斯的日記》--書荒時看的一本書、《可樂和吻》，哈哈如果想看易懂的。以世界大戰為（忘記是一戰還是二戰了）背景的偵探小說，我沒有看完的小說，兒童文學。，故事很陰暗，不過貴在內容很好、永不離分，總算有說是除了初中生也面向高中生，大概算短篇小說。，網上隨便都能搜索到的、《愛犬尋覓記》，我有那么一點興趣缺缺阿，相當有名，中篇小說。。。，真讓人驚奇。篇幅也相對較短小，敘事性比較強。。。。、阿姆斯特丹匪幫，愛情。、野獸傳說，說了一個專出怪胎的村莊中兄弟倆的故事。中年離婚女人和喪妻男人的因為一個漂流瓶引發的愛情故事。，我初中的詞匯量真小阿）
共7本書。也電影化了：故事時間發生的是現代的美國）
《三十九級臺階》--語言還算簡單。嗯。
以上的一些是我覺得還可以的電子書格式的。。。，表達的意義卻能那么豐富。、《穆爾提默的涂鴉》。高分級的讀物相對篇幅也比較長。
