英文通知的格式一般是將發通知的日期一般寫在通知正文的左下角。
通知一般由標題、正文和結尾三部分組成。標題部分包括常用標題語和發出通知的單位名稱；正文包括事情、通知對象、要求、時間（有時還包括地點）等；結尾部分主要包括發通知的具體日期。
英文通知NOTICE（每個字母都大寫）寫在通知正文上面一行的正中間。發出通知的單位名稱可以寫在NOTICE上面，也可以寫在通知正文的右下角；發通知的日期一般寫在通知正文的左下角。
一份好的英文書面通知應具備以下三點：
1、四多一少。四多：被動語態多，將來時態多，簡單句多，祈使句多。一少：修飾性詞語少。
2、通知的開頭要交代清楚活動的內容、對象、時間和地點。我們稱之為四“W”。即：what,who,when,where.
3、層次清晰。一個層次表達一件事，切忌在一個句子中表達多件事情。

通知（通告）是要告知某種信息而使用的一種文體。
在通知（通告）上方居中寫上Notice字樣作為標題；無稱呼語，通知中用第三人稱；出通知單位或負責人名字應寫在正文最后的右下方，或放在標題之上，作為標題的一部分，這樣最后不再署名；出通知的日期寫在正文左下方，應在單位名的下一行。
