該逗號相當于一個破折號 為了突出注釋或說明作用，前后兩部分之間有語音停頓，書面上可用冒號、逗號或破折號。
當然也可以把the longer and more earnestly I reflect on them看做插入語 。the starry heavens without and the moral law within.是主語的同位語。
康德的墓志銘出自《實踐理性批判》的《結論》， 德文原句如下：Zwei Dinge erfüllen das Gemüth mit immer neuer und zunehmender Bewunderung und Ehrfurcht, je oefter und anhaltender sich das Nachdenken damit beschaeftigt: der bestirnte Himmel über mir und das moralische Gesetz in mir.(Kant's gesammelte Schriften, Band V, Berlin, 1913. （商務印書館1981年版1992年第2次印刷，第141頁） 因為是從俄文轉譯的，這個譯文與原文有較大的差別.下面幾種譯文都是從德文原文翻譯的：韓水法漢譯文：“有兩樣東西，我們愈經常愈持久地加以思索，它們就愈使心靈充滿日新月異、有加無已的景仰和敬畏：在我之上的星空和居我心中的道德法則。”（商務印書館1999年版第177頁） 鄧曉芒漢譯文：“有兩樣東西，人們越是經常持久地對之凝神思索，它們就越是使內心充滿常新而日增的驚奇和敬畏：我頭上的星空和我心中的道德律。”
（人民出版社2003年版第220頁） 李秋零漢譯文：“有兩樣東西，越是經常而持久地對它們進行反復思考，它們就越是使心靈充滿常新而日益增長的驚贊和敬畏：我頭上的星空和我心中的道德法則。”（《康德著作全集》第五卷，中國人民大學出版社2007年版，第169頁） 現在網上流傳著虎頭（馮曉虎）的一個帖子《學習康德好榜樣》，其中對這句話的翻譯頗為傳神：“有兩事充盈性靈，思之愈頻，念之愈密，則愈覺驚嘆日新，敬畏月益：頭頂之天上繁星，心中之道德律令。”
不同的中文譯本：一.有兩種東西，我們愈是時常愈加反復地思索，它們就愈是給人的心靈灌注了時時翻新，有增無減的贊嘆和敬畏 ——頭上的星空和心中的道德法則。二.有兩樣東西，我們愈經常愈持久地加以思索，它們就愈使心靈充滿始終新鮮不斷增長的景仰和敬畏：在我之上的星空和居我心中的道德法則。
三.有二事焉，常在此心，敬而畏之；與日俱新：上則為星辰，內則為德法。另外：摘自彭順風博客：以上翻譯差別較大，語意欠準確。
其實原話的含義是非常豐富的，如果從字面上強求精準反而會為字詞所累而有失原意。采用文言文含義豐富、字詞簡練、對仗工整的特點，我譯之如下：“有二事焉，恒然于心，敬而畏之，日念日甚：外者璀璨星穹，內者道德律令。”

康德那句話是刻在他的墓碑上的墓志銘。
康德墓志銘的德文原文為：“Zwei Dinge erfuellen das Gemuet mit immer neuer und zunehmender Bewunderung und Ehrfurcht, je oefter und anhaltender sich das Nachdenken damit beschaeftigt: der bestirnte Himmel ueber mir und das moralische Gesetz in mir.”這是他所著的《實踐理性批判·結論》上開頭的第一句。在1880年移葬時，主事者就在墓碑上刻上這段文字，從此就成為舉世聞名的“康德墓志銘”。
它的英文版本，至少有如下的三種：
(1) "Two things fill the mind with always new and ever-increasing admiration and awe, the more often and more intensely the thinking is occupied with it - the starry heavens above me and the moral law within me."
(2)Two erringly my thinking engages itself with them: the starry heavens above me and the moral law within me.
(3)“Two things fill the mind with ever new and increasing wonder and awe, the oftener and the more steadily we reflect on them: the starry heavens above me and the moral law within me. ”這是北京九州出版社2007年版《英漢對照·實踐理性批判》的英文譯法，所用藍本為L. W. Beck譯的1993年版英譯本Critique Of Practical Reason。
